Student Art Creations Around School

Student+Art+Creations+Around+School

Currently in the works, Mr. Amerino’s period four art class is making a mural for Saint Louis. This mural will be displayed on Newell Hall’s first floor located by the elementary  school.  It’ll represent the characteristics of Louis IX of France, and images that represent our school as a whole. This mural will be the first project made by students, that will be displayed on a school building. The mural will represent the the past leaders that made the prestigious history of Saint Louis School. The mural will hopefully to be finished by the end of the 2017-2018 school year. So far, the period four art class has been sketching a figurative concept. By the start of second semester, the making of the mural will be underway.  For now, we must wait patiently for the reveal of the fully constructed mural. We all hope to see the mural stay for generations, inspiring the future men of Kalaepohaku.

I have interviewed a number of students around campus about the creation of student art.  In the interview, I informed them about the up and coming student art. I then asked about their opinions, if they believe that more student art should be displayed around campus.  They all agreed on the topic, it shows the brotherhood of the school.  I believe that student art embraces creativity and uniqueness among the students.  John Hasebe stated, “It creates a sense of unity for the school and between our brothers.”  The positive feedback is exceptional, giving an incentive to create and add on more art to our school.  Many other students also believe that with an installation with more art, it shows the rich history of Saint Louis School. We all hope to see more student art displayed around school in the future.
