The first three weeks of March every year at Saint Louis are home to the annual theatre production by the Saint Louis Center for the Arts. This year’s production was a thrilling rendition of the Broadway hit musical Footloose. The biggest night of the production is the annual gala night in which donors and prominent members of the Saint Louis community come to support the arts. The play focused on issues including, single parenting, domestic abuse and finding your own path in life. The plot is of a big town kid from Chicago named Ren who after the abandonment of his father is forced to move to the small town of Bomont. His free spirit attitude and passion for dance cause him to be disliked by the town Pastor who enforces a strict no dancing policy. Eventually, with the help of best friend Willard Hewitt and love interest Ariel Moore, they change hearts and minds of Bomont and host a successful community dance. A multitude of Saint Louis students participated in the production: Matt Watkins 18’, Coen Unciano 18’, Zhane Chang-Holloway 18’, Miles Kroeker 23’, Colton Santana 22’, Slade Cullen 18’, Cormac Hurley 20’, Duke Hada 21’, Joseph Lyons 18’, Chord Medeiros 18’ and Jake Tobias 18’.
