Dear Brothers,

It’s been a great ride, and it is a bittersweet moment to be writing this letter. Thank you for all the memories and good times. Here’s a little glimpse into my past, present, and future.

I’m headed for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to study Mechanical Engineering.

I take with me the countless memories and experiences I have enjoyed over my years on Kalaepohaku.

I leave behind my dependence and childhood, and will start my own independent life.

I will miss the brotherhood and the time spent with my friends at school.

I will not miss having to wear Thursday dress every week.

I will always remember the memories I have made with the LIFE team, and my experiences on KAIROS. These events have truly shaped my life.

My advice to next year’s seniors is very simple.

  1. Go on KAIROS. It is a highlight of senior year, and is the best retreat the school has to offer.
  2. Go to sports events. I saw my first Saint Louis soccer, basketball, baseball, and track events this year.
  3. Don’t fall behind in your studies. Senior year is not the time to just chill. Keep working hard, because colleges ask for your senior transcript as well.
  4. Don’t stress too much about college. Everything will work out. It is not the end of the world if you get waitlisted or rejected from schools. Trust God’s plan for your life.
  5. Go to bed on time. There is a lot going on throughout the year, and you can miss lots of it if you are asleep. Be healthy.
  6. Don’t blink. Senior year goes by so fast, and you won’t realize it until it’s over. Enjoy yourself.
