D1 Baseball Senior Night

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, it was Saint Louis’ D1 baseball senior night and they were going up against Punahou. Going into this game Saint Louis’ record was 11-3. But they were not leading the ILH, Punahou was leading the ILH with a record of 12-1. Saint Louis was coming into this game with determination to beat Punahou. The senior’s of Saint Louis wanted to win this game more than anyone because it was their senior night and they had something to prove to everyone that did not believe in them.

Punahou started the game out hot, scoring three runs in the first inning. But Saint Louis did not give up, as Hunter Peneueta hit a three-run home run to give them the lead. Peneueta and the Crusaders scored five runs in the third inning while Punahou only scored 1. The score after the third inning was 5-4, Saint Louis was leading. The next inning Saint Louis scored another run to add on to the lead.

As the fifth inning came around the score was 6-4, Saint Louis leads. The Crusaders started to get a lot of hits which led to them scoring an extra four runs in that inning, while Punahou again only scored one run. Going into the last inning, the Crusaders were up 10-5. Makaio Bruchal was pitching to seal the deal. He gave up one run in the last inning but still helped the Crusaders win the game with good pitching in the last couple of innings.
