Fallout 4 is a post-apocalyptic open-world free roam action role-playing game that takes place in the near future. The game is a combination of vintage classics with a futuristic style feeling. This means you bring the style of the 1940s and 50s into the future.

The story starts off with you, the character living a perfect life with a perfect family in a perfect neighborhood. You are having the time of your life with your family, what could go wrong. Then, all of a sudden, an emergency news broadcast interrupts telling everyone to evacuate into a bomb shelter called the vault. As time passes, you are able to leave the vault to see the world in ruins. It has become filled with radioactive monsters, creatures, robots, and more.

There are multiple stories and endings in the game, so it is your choice on how you want to live and survive in this world in ruins. You can explore all around the world, seeing new places, but don’t forget to gear up and level up because there will be some powerful enemies along the way.

Fallout has a bunch of missions that you can complete. There are main missions, side missions, companion missions, and more. You can get them by continuing along through the story or meeting new people as you travel on your journey. There are unique sets of weapons, from machine guns to pistols, snipers, rockets, and even special weapons like the Fat Man which is a mini-nuke launcher that fires mini-nukes.

You can customize your character to whatever you desire, changing clothing and armor pieces. There is also a power suit called power armor which makes you feel like Iron man but without the repulsors. You can craft structures to decorate your bases and defend them against raids.

As you’re traveling around the world you can interact with other people and there are some that you can recruit and be your companion. They can interact with you, and help you during battles, but if you prefer to go around alone then you can disband your companion sending them back to your base. If you travel with your companion for a very long time, that can increase their affinity which unlocks new dialogues and a mission for them. Doing so can help raise their loyalty and trust in you.

Also, there are perks which are skills that can help you do a lot more and make it easier for you throughout the game. You can unlock them by receiving points whenever you level up.

The more you level up the more points you receive and with that, you can unlock more perks that can help with your crafting or strengthen your character’s health. Then there is your pip-boy, which is your guide that shows your map and items that you have inside. It tells you your stats and what conditions you could be in as well as helping you keep track of your missions.

The game is very fun and exciting to play, but it is very long. If you want to play a game to pass the time, then this is the game for you. The game has a feeling like the Jetsons except you’re not in the air. The game also plays music that is from the 1940s and 50s, but if you’re not into that then you can turn it off. The map is extremely big, and you have to walk to new places. This can become tedious over time. Luckily, once you explore a new place, you have the ability to fast travel between locations to save time. The game is very easy to pick up on and I highly recommend people to play it.
