The new iPhone 13 was released on September 13, 2021, and it is the hottest new phone out there. With many new features,  people have noted that it far surpasses previous iPhones by a mile and the Apple Corporation considers it “our new superpower.” 

Iphone’s new camera features a new “Cinematic” mode for users looking to create full-length films by simply their cell phone. By adding this feature, videography has become easier and user-friendly. Editing is also simpler, allowing the changes to fix scene blurs after shooting the video. Shaylynn Kuaana, a Maryknoll student who recently purchased the new iPhone 13, says that “(it) has a few updates like the new camera settings, how the apps look, and the new facetime features. I also really like the colors it came out in.”

The new iPhone also offers five different colors to choose from, along with several new and interesting features including longer-lasting battery durability and twice the storage space. The A15 Bionic feature, which supports the cinematic mode styles, also gives the user improved “live text” capacity. “I don’t know if it’s the best one but it’s definitely a great one. I haven’t had any problems with the new phone since I’ve gotten it,” Kuaana explained.

However, recent purchases have also noted that the new iPhone 13 is similar to previous versions and note the only changes appear to be the difference in screen presentation of various apps on the device. “It’s like the other iPhones they’ve come out with” adds Kuaana, “but it just has a few updates like the new camera settings, how the apps look, and the new FaceTime features. I also really like the colors it came out in.”

Apple’s goal is to continue to introduce iPhones to help users with their everyday lives, with updated features and improvements to the existing applications. While some tout the new iPhone, Kuaana notes that, “It works well, just like any other iPhone I had. I think Apple set it up well enough for my everyday use.”

 As the newest iPhone hits the market, Apple continues to promote the newest iPhone as its “ new Superpower,” a step up from its previous versions. The new iPhone 13 may not be the best iPhone that Apple has introduced, but it is certainly an improvement.
