The Flyin Hawaiian Andrade

Micah Malina

Mr. Andrade is the sophomore religion teacher and the freshman advisor. Along with

that, he is also the LIFE Team moderator. He has traveled with the LIFE Team to California to the LIFE Retreat. Here are some of the questions I have asked him, along with his answers.

Question: How did you like the California LIFE retreat?

Answer: The Pacific LIFE Retreat was an awesome experience, both as a teacher and participant, because I was able to experience my Catholic Faith with my peers and the students that I am blessed to teach with.

Question: What did you like about the boys that were part of this year’s LIFE Team?

Answer: The young men on our retreat were respectful towards everyone and represented Saint Louis School well.  I especially enjoyed seeing the boys bring a lot of joy to the other schools by sharing their culture through music, dance, language, and games.

Question: Why did you choose to be the LIFE Team Moderator?

Answer: The position was asked of me when Fr. McDaid asked if I was interested in going to a retreat in California during the summer of 2019.  The ultimate goal of the LIFE Team is to bring Christ to our Saint Louis Community.

Question: What was it like being part of the LIFE Team retreat?  Was it it life changing?

Answer: Being a part of the retreat was like being part of a big family.  We all shared meals together, did activities together, went to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass together, traveled together, and shared LIFE experiences with the purpose of drawing us closer to GOD! I would not say this experience was life changing, but it did have an impact on my relationship with others who were on the retreat.

Question: Did you see any change in the gentlemen that went on this LIFE Retreat?

Answer: Most of the students who were on this retreat I met for the very first time when I joined the LIFE Team.  I did not see any major changes, but I did notice that the students gained a better awareness of themselves and how others perceive them.
