Stewardship at Saint Louis

Jacob Pattison, Feature

Stewardship is the job of supervising or taking care of someone or something. Saint Louis is a school with the morals and values of the Catholic Marianist teachings. Helping and inspiring are strong points in the Marianist education. Many events are held throughout the year to practice these teachings. Some community service projects are feeding the homeless, the blood drive, and Father Chaminade day. Those projects are only a small portion of the activities put together to benefit the community. Living by the Marianist educational values and as a Saint Louis man, leads students to excel in taking part in helping the community. Every Saturday morning, former religion teacher Leonard Jenkins goes out to Kapiolani park to feed the homeless in the area. Every year the Saint Louis JROTC helps the community by performing an assignment called the Service Learning Project. This project is a combination of all the JROTC periods coming together to help the community. The goal of this is to not only help the community but also to inspire the people to go out and do the same. Stewardship goes hand and hand with the Saint Louis Man. Living the Golden Rule, making a difference in the world, and maturing into an exemplary person is what drives the students and faculty members to inspire and help the community.

If you have any questions with community service, please make time to meet with Mr. Christian.
