Recently the school has received brand new PC’s that are decently speced. With 22 custom made computers, each one has the worth of about $1,300. All of which costed the school around $35,000 for all of our PC’s. This was for the engineering classes including 3D modeling and will hope to bring new opportunities for our students. We expect new projects and ways that the students can practice new skills in the field of engineering.

Not only do newly built PC’s open pathways to new forms of education but it can also lead to a gaming club much like how a few other schools in the state have created. Punahou, St Damian, and a few other schools have a gaming club of their own in which they compete against other schools in competitive video games such as “League of Legends” and “CSGO”. Saint Louis School has started to developed its own “video game club” which currently has not been officially created yet. The future of video games becoming an actual respected sport in schools is still fuzzy and it is hard to tell where this will go here at Saint Louis.

As Esports quickly grows to becoming a large and legitimate form of entertainment, it spreads quickly throughout the internet as millions can view live tournaments on broadcasting platforms such as “twitch”. There has been a significant growth in the community and popularity when looking at the past decade and we can see how esports are becoming as popular if not more popular than physical sports. It is seen by an international audience much like football, ”soccer” Although people will disagree with the significance of esports, there is no doubt that it has gained popularity and support in its community.
