Tua Tagovailoa Polynesian College Football Player of the Year

University of Alabama Quarterback and Saint Louis School graduate, Tua Tagovailoa was named the 2018 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year award. This is award is presented every year to the most outstanding and amazing college football player of polynesian descent that also displays great ability and integrity. Tua joins fellow Saint Louis alumni and Tennessee Titans Quarterback Marcus Mariota as the only two Saint Louis graduates to have won the award.

Tua Tagovailoa was a main part in leading the University of Alabama to an undefeated 13-0 record, the SEC Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff for the second consecutive year. Statistically, Tuaʻs year was one of, if not the greatest single season by a quarterback in Alabama history. He concluded the regular season by completing 67.7% of his passes for a total of 3,353 yards and 37 touchdowns to only four interceptions.

The dynamic dual-threat quarterback own the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Maxwell Award and was also named runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. Along with Tua, other finalists include, DE AJ Epensa (University of Iowa), DB ALohi Gilman (Notre Dame), OL Dru Samia (University of Oklahoma) and WR John Ursua (University of Hawaiʻi).
