This past weekend, my friends and I went to ‘Gen Korean BBQ House’. The day we went, they had some type of “special offer” where the dinner menu (more options, but more expensive) was 5 dollars lower than the usual price. The only thing was that it was required, and lunch menu was not available for lunch. Anyway, prior to us going there, I looked up the restaurant on Yelp and found that the comments and reviews widely vary. Scrolling through the website, I saw that most were great or satisfied comments, but there were also many dissatisfied reviews. To elaborate reviews such as Jennifer L’s were great, stating that “The atmosphere when you walk in is inviting and the ambiance is appealing” but some consumers like Troy K. were not so impressed, he wrote, “Meh  … that pretty much sums up my review. I don’t have much to say other than if you’re hungry, it’s AYCE(All You Can Eat).” But this is not a review based on others, so I’ll try my best to give an unbiased and honest review.

Atmosphere Score: 10/10

It is a very modern, clean, and fun looking restaurant, with welcoming and great music. When you walk in you’re instantly greeted with friendly faces and cool air conditioning. The restaurant is filled with modern furniture and a bunch of blue LED accents.

Food Quality Score: 7/10 

Most meats were good but some were tough and hard to chew. The ‘premium steak’ was about 30% fat/silver skin and was not pleasant to chew. The brisket that we order last had a suspicious black substance on top was unappetizing and weird. But other than those 2 orders, the rest was great and very tasty. 

Portion Size Score: 8/10

It is ‘All You Can Eat’, but the individual portions of the dishes require you to reorder. For example, when you order the ‘kalbi’, one order comes with only 2 stripes of ‘kalbi’ for a party of 3.

Service Score: 9/10

Waiters/Waitresses were kind and professional. When we asked for something, they were always responsive and happy to help. Flagging down a waiter was not difficult except for when we wanted to get the check. It took 15-20 minutes to get waiter to come, since it was a busy day.
