A horrible event occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada on the night of October 1st. A gunman who’s been identified as Stephen Paddock shot and killed 58 people as well as injured 489 people at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip. Stephen Paddock fired down upon the music festival from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The shooting caused mass havoc at the music festival with people running to save their own lives. After hearing of the incident on the news or social media outlets families and friends from all over the country called or texted their loved ones in Las Vegas to check if they were okay. Unfortunately, some of them never picked up their phone.

Stephen’s motive behind the shooting is still unknown and is currently under investigation. As the SWAT team was breaching through his hotel room door, Stephen killed himself. This horrific incident left many families and friends in mourning and is regarded as the worst shooting in American history. This horrific event is being compared to that of the Columbine Massacre or the Orlando Nightclub shooting. Families and friends from all over the country along with the White House came to mourn for those who have lost their lives with mass prayer services or moments of silence.
