The Saint Louis Crusaders varsity football team is ready for battle. They will face their biggest test of the young season as the rank-19 Bishop Gorman Gaels (MaxPreps) comes to Hawaiʻi for a clash between two national football powerhouses. Both teams are loaded with talent and are ready to be put to the test.

Everybody’s hungry, we’ve never been more hungry.

— Brian Cox, Defensive Back

The Crusader offense is led by wide receivers Roman Wilson (Michigan) and Matthew Sykes (UCLA), who arguably make up the best duo of receivers to ever play for the school. On the other side of the ball, Stanley Mckenzie (defensive tackle, Cal Berkeley commit), Nicholas Herbig (outside linebacker, Wisconsin commit), Jordan Botelho (outside linebacker, Notre Dame commit), and Brian Cox (defensive back) all continue to shine. “Everybody’s hungry, we’ve never been more hungry,” Cox remarked. “We get to play somebody from the mainland and it’s going to be exciting.”

Jordan Botelho, Outside Linebacker

The Gaels have their share of talent, including Penn State commit, dual threat quarterback Micah Bowens, and University of Washington commit, wide receiver Rome Odunze. These two teams will face off in the most anticipated game of the season on Friday, August 30th (7:30 pm) at Aloha Stadium.
